Originally known as “Slings & Arrows”, Copper & Iron was founded near the end of 2012 by husband and wife duo, Sarah-Jade & Tom Loewen. Having sung and performed together for years, this new undertaking was a natural next step in their musical journey.  After some early excitement, they were soon joined by one of Tom’s former band mates, Drew Williams on drums and childhood friend, David Janzen on cello and bass guitar. Having started out as a cover band, Tom & Sarah-Jade soon began writing their own songs, blending folk, pop, rock and alt-country influences witha strong emphasis on thought-provoking lyrics and fresh melodic hooks. In 2013, they were joined by guitarist, Mark Elliotson, completing the five-piece lineup. For their first full-lenth recording, Sarah-Jade & Tom were also joined by long time friends and musical collaborators, Derek Elliotson, Eric Moccio and Mike Enns.
